DAY: Saturday June 12thSTAGE: Harmony Main Stage (4:00PM) From Santa Cruz, CA The Expendables have staked their claim in the revitalized California surf rock genre. Their music blends reggae, punk rock, and 80’s style dueling guitar solos, which combined with their dynamic live shows have established them as a force on the west coast alternative music scene for the last decade. The band consists of Geoff Weers (Guitars and Vocals), Adam Patterson (Drums and Vocals), Raul Bianchi (Lead Guitar) and Ryan DeMars (Bass).
The Expendables' first release in 2000, "No Time to Worry”, became an instant summertime classic, with songs like the dub reggae "Right Time” and their punk rock favorite, "Fire Starter.” While touring and supporting their album, "Getting Filthy," The Expendables would share the stage with Slightly Stoopid and catch the attention of founders and front men Kyle McDonald and Miles Doughty. In 2007 Slightly Stoopid formed their own, independent label, Stoopid Records, and signed The Expendables releasing the group's self titled album that same year, the lables first non-Stoopid release. The album received rave reviews fueled by instant classics like the rhythm heavy ode to Santa Cruz nightlife, "Down Down Down," the dueling guitar melodic rock favorite "War Cry," and the party anthem, "Let Loose." Early 2009 saw The Expendables in the busiest time of their career. Within a few short months the band hit the road with NOFX, Less Than Jake, Pennywise, Pepper, and joined 311 on their Summer Unity amphitheater tour, rocking huge stages, opening new doors, and taking the band to a new level. The band returned to the studio in November 2009 and began recording songs for thier new album. Production controls would be passed to punk rock guitarist El Hefe of NOFX fame, finishing up their highly anticipated, fifth, full-length album, "Prove It", bringing the synthesis of reggae and metal sounds laced with ska and punk to 17 brand new, original tracks. The album Features guest appearances by G. Love and various members of Slightly Stoopid, "Prove It" will be released nationwide on May 11, 2010, just three weeks prior to their appearance at Harmony Festival. Look for The Expendables on tour throughout 2010, as they will continue to rock towns across the country with their unparalleled live shows and unique blend of music.
