Hailing from England, Steel Pulse started out performing on the late 70's British Punk & Ska scene with groups like Generation X and have eveolved into one of the world's legendary roots reggae bands.

They are the only British reggae group to win a Grammy Award, for their album Banylon The Bandit (1985), as well as five Grammy nominations, including one for their most recent recording African Holocaust (2004). 

Renown for their powerful live shows, their innovative blend of straight-ahead reggae, and Euro-pop containing potent pleas for social justice, is an extension of their musical roots. Their sound incorporates the universal of messages they found in their formative years of hearing  jazz, ska, and rock-steady--which soon developed into reggae. Going strong for over 30 years, we are proud to welcome Steel Pulse making their first ever Harmony Festival appearance!
