Lineup 2011
Chango B
DATE: Saturday, June 11th
LOCATION: Grace Pavillion
(Techno-Tribal Dance)
Bryce Williams, aka Chango B, is a Sonoma County native and resident who in the past two years has built himself a strong reputation as one of the hardest working DJs in the North Bay dance music scene. His wild energy, unique musical flavors, and antics on and off the turntables have landed him residencies with local house heads and fellow funkateers Organic North, the Juke Joint, and a Nu-Funk, Afro-Beat, and breaks weekly put on by DJs Malarkey and InI. Chango B has released two live Break Beat and Mash-up mixes, "Finger Puppets vol. 1" and "It Came From Outer Bass", which got snatched up so fast they've become something of legend and are now local underground mix collectors items. In addition, he has found himself behind the decks opening for acclaimed musical acts like Fort Knox Five, the Glitch Mob, Vibesquad, Bassbin Twins, Nickodemus, J. Boogie's Dubtronic Science, Sol Horizon, Pato Banton, Neighbor, and All Good Funk Alliance.

Primus
DATE: Sunday, June 12th
TIME: 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM
STAGE: Main Stage
In terms of a new studio album, Claypool says, "The Primus record is nearly done. For those of you who enjoyed Last Salmon Man, the new song that we played New Year's, you'll love the new record because every song basically sounds exactly the same as that one. In fact, we just kept recording the same song over and over and I would just change a few of the lyrics around. I hear that's the way Pink Floyd used to do it and those guys are no slouches. (My manager got bent out of shape at me writing that last bit about the record and he wanted me to change it so, here is what I'm changing it to: The Primus record is nearly done. Every song is pretty much a variation of Don't Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult. Everyone should buy two copies.")
Harmony Festival 2011 welcomes Primus "home", straight from Bonnaroo where they play the very same weekend.

Primus formed in the late '80s in Northern California and released their first album, Suck On This, in 1989. They signed to Caroline Records and in 1990 released their now classic album, Frizzle Fry. As part of the alternative rock explosion of the early '90s, the band signed to Interscope and gave the world some of the biggest records of the decade, including Sailing The Seas Of Cheese, Pork Soda, Tales From The Punchbowl and The Brown Album. During this time, Primus also enjoyed several Billboard top 10 debuts, garnered a Grammy nomination, and wrote the internationally loved and enduring theme song for South Park. Fronted by the inimitable Les Claypool, considered one of the most versatile and unique bass players alive, Primus offers up a zany and eclectic style of music all their own, throwing in a healthy amount of the bizarre for good measure. In terms of a new studio album, Claypool says, "The Primus record is nearly done. The Flaming Lips
DAY: Saturday, June 11thTIME: 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM
STAGE: Main Stage
In the eclectic world of alternative rock few bands have been as brave or as frequently brilliant and deliciously weird as the Grammy award winning band, The Flaming Lips. They are a pop culture phenomenon and one of the most respected groups of this century. An acid-bubblegum band with as much affinity for sweet melodies as blistering noise assaults, their off-kilter sound, uncommon emotional depth, and bizarre history firmly establishes them as true originals. Their taste for eccentric performances has become the stuff of legend. Over their storied 28-year career, the group has incorporated everything from colorful animal costumes to confetti cannons, giant laser hands and human-sized plastic bubbles into its live shows.

Michael Franti and Spearhead
DAY: Friday, June 10thTIME: 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM
STAGE: Main Stage
Michael Franti has always spoken his mind through his music: from his early punk rock band Beatnigs, to the industrial-noise of Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy, to the conscious and soulful hip-hop of Spearhead. Michael Franti spans the personal, and the political, with grace, depth, and beauty. If the times have been marked by tension and fear, Franti offers compassion and release. In the two decades that Michael Franti has been composing music, he has grown from a black-booted voice of youthful rage into a barefoot clarion for social justice. For the past 12 years Franti has produced the annual "Power to the Peaceful" festival, which draws over 70,000 people to Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. In addition to his groundbreaking recordings and globally acclaimed live concerts, Franti is a renowned speaker for social justice and human rights. He has lectured at many of this country's top universities, including Yale, Georgetown and Stanford, and shared the stage with the likes of Mohammad Ali, Bill Clinton, Michael Moore, Ralph Nader, and Gloria Steinem.
Michael Franti continues to stay true to his beliefs making him one of the most relevant and influential artists of this generation. Look for him this spring, performing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel and at the prestigious NAACP Image Awards.

G. Love & Special Sauce
DATE: Friday, June 10thTIME: 10:45 PM
STAGE: Grace Pavilion
The enigmatically smooth and uber-cool Garrett “G. Love” Dutton is one of Philadelphia’s funkiest performers of laid back, alternative hip-hop blues (a genre he helped define). As an insatiable musical omnivore, G. Love somehow manages to synthesize his iconic influences by shedding their layers to find that harmonic convergence where song and listener bare their souls to each other speaking nothing but the raw-boned truth. On their latest release, Fixin’ to Die, G. Love has done just that; he has mined the sonic ore of his heroes only to emerge with a fresh lode of precious stones.
He explains, “It’s a nod back and a step forward. It’s a return to the roots of what made me G. Love in the first place. I fell in love with and learned music as a teenager, which is such a developmentally pivotal point in ones life. That point when you decide you wanna play guitar, right? I was 16 when I discovered folk music, the blues, and Bob Dylan and that was simply the backbone for everything that followed for me musically. I mean, this is my second decade as a recording and touring musician. I’m looking into the next phase of my career, and although at heart I’ve always been a roots musician I want to emphasis it more now. I want to carry on the tradition not in a nostalgic way, but by keeping it fresh, real and unexpected, and we did it with Fixin’ to Die.”
