Deborah Koons Garcia has a Masters of Fine Arts degree from the San Francisco Art institute. Her films include the groundbreaking The Future of Food, which has played in theaters, at film, food and farming festivals, community gatherings, and on television and the Internet. She is now completing a multi-film project, Symphony of the Soil. Short films from this project, Sonatas of the Soil, have won awards at the Yale Environmental Film Festival and the Aspen Short Film Festival. Deborah has lived on the same watershed in Marin County for 34 years.
